Hope in Dublin, Ireland

Scott & Lindsay Nimmon are Christian missionaries participating in a church revitalization movement. They are discovering that they can communicate the gospel effectively to the multi-cultural city of Dublin through the intimacy of art and small group ministry. To follow this ministry closer, sign up for their newsletter (Nimmon News) by clicking here.

Church Revitalization

Francis Schaeffer wrote and the Nimmons agree that, “each generation of the church in each setting has the responsibility of communicating the gospel in understandable terms, considering the language and thought forms of that setting.” In a city where many immigrants do not speak English, and many Irish have withdrawn from the church, this ministry focuses on initiating relationships, speaking the gospel into people’s lives in a personal way, seeing people come to faith, and leading in discipleship as new believers mature in faith.

Support

This ministry depends on the prayer and financial gifts of individuals and churches in America. Please consider how God might be calling you to join in this church renewal effort and show the people of Dublin just how great is our God.

Small Groups

A Christian Korean lady brought her Chinese friend to a small group led by Scott and Lindsay.  During a time of open prayer, she prayed that God would reveal himself to her friend and that her friend would accept Christ. Before the prayer time closed, the Chinese lady prayed, “Jesus I don't know you yet, but I think I will soon.”

Arts Ministry

Scott & Lindsay assist in the delivery of an evangelistic arts ministry program. They use their creative and administrative skills to share the gospel of Jesus with the many artists and immigrants surrounding Abbey Church.

“The mission is not primarily ours, it is God’s. It is because he loves the world and yearns to bring us to himself that we join in that mission. If we have been sought and embraced by transforming Love, we want to lead others to the same embrace.”  -Rev. Alan Boal, Abbey Church
